Every now and then, a person comes across a game that feels just right. For me, that game is Divinity: Original Sin. A game made possible by a successful campaign run by the game’s studio Larian Studios. The kickstarter raised over $1,000,000 during a month of funding and has since sold over 160,000 copies since releasing on June 30th. According to the studio, these sales numbers make it their fastest selling game.

One of my favorite writers, Neil Gaiman, has done everything from comics to television, and now he is adding another medium to his list, video games. Gaiman teamed up with The Odd Gentleman to create the spooktacular game, Wayward Manor.
It’s not like I had anything to do with it, but it’s still pretty thrilling to have physically been in witness of a Guinness World winning event! Back in April, Drexel University associate professor Frank Lee created a version of Tetris that would be playable on the side of the Cira Centre, a 29-story building.
If you don’t have any plans this weekend, and you happen to like games, might I suggest heading over to Too Many Games in Oak, PA??? The convention in it’s 10th season (congrats, guys!) has a whole lot of fun in store for gaming enthusiasts.
The media briefings wrapped up in a great way with the Nintendo Digital Event that was shown. It started off with what appeared to be a Robot Chicken animation starring Nintendo USA President Reggie making fun of every franchise Nintendo was known for. After that was a CGI-fight starring both Nintendo heads, Mr. Iwata and Reggie, completely animated in Mii avatars. The short wrapped up with real-life Reggie and Iwata playing some Super Smash Bros. to settle the score.
Ubisoft had a very impressive showing for E3 2014, with their media briefing showing a bunch of gameplay footage for games we can’t wait to get our hands on. They also closed with one hell of a surprise at the end.
Wrapping up the Monday media briefings was Sony, and it was a big one. Due to the large amount of content that was shown I’m going to break the media briefing down to simplify it.
The EA media briefing for EA 2014 was different to say the least, but aside from most of the normal fare they didn’t really show anything that you will see anytime soon. To start off, so I can save you a bunch of time, here’s a quick summary of the normal: there’s a whole new line up of sports this year which include Madden, PGA, FIFA, NHL, and UFC. So, now that’s all out of the way lets get to the other stuff.
E3 2014 week kicked off with the Microsoft media briefing for upcoming plans for the Xbox and Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, said it was only going to be about games and he sure wasn’t kidding. This E3 we are seeing a new and improved Microsoft showing with little to no mention of what apps, television, or sports were going to come to your console. The internet was thrilled and has been booming about what Microsoft had shown earlier today so lets go over everything there is to talk about.
Oh Tecmo Koei, and your series rehash, you are so… so… so great. Yes, Samurai Warriors returns to the the west this year with the latest entry into the series, Samurai Warriors 4. If you are familiar with Dynasty Warriors and you like those games then you will like these, since they are almost mirror images of one another. The only difference is Samurai Warriors takes place in ancient feudal Japan instead of China.
